100 views! Plus updates

I have just learned that over 100 people have seen this blog. I did not see that coming when I started this up. I thought that it would just be seen by around 50 in its first year, but I was able to get more than that. Also, I see we have some international viewers. Welcome to the Blackhawk Maverick! Also, I have some updates regarding myself, the blog, and a subject of the blog. On the topic of myself, I will be busy in the near future, so expect updates to be sporadic and when news happens. Second, expect signing news to begin in November, as the National Letter of Intent, which is what D1 and D2 recruits sign to commit to a college, allows signings for those divisions beginning November 9th for all other sports, April for D1 basketball in the regular period, and February for D1 and D2 football. Although Division 3 uses a ceremonial signing, signing ceremonies take place within the same time period as NLI signings. Changing topics to the teacher update, Herr Chuang has been signed on as a full-time teacher, ending his long-term substitute status. Only offers that I can confirm are on there, so anything about Ethan Papa is not there, as I cannot confirm his offers.

Michael Turconi Drafted

 Michael Turconi, 2018 Blackhawk graduate and Wake Forest shortstop, was drafted in the 15th round by the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday. This comes off of Turconi's best season ever statistically. Batting .314 and with an OPS over 1.000, he showed improvement in almost all statistical categories. This season came after he was not drafted in the previous draft. Taking pro scouts' tips to stock and with a chip on his shoulder, Turconi posted his best season in his college career. Brian Omogrosso, Adam Liberatore, and Brendan McKay have all gone from Blackhawk to Major League Baseball and played at least 1 game in the majors. Michael Turconi hopes to join that elite club. His journey will likely start in Dunedin, FL, where the Blue Jays' Low-A team, the Dunedin Blue Jays, and Florida Complex League team, the FCL Blue Jays, play. Woods World of Sports Extra: Playoff Clinching Scenarios

 Welcome back to the Maverick! I apologize for the lack of recent posts, as I had other fish to fry and rest assured, exciting things are en route, so watch this space. Anyway, I am making this to show how Blackhawk's baseball and softball teams can clinch playoff spots. Things will get complex, so stay tuned. Baseball Right now, Blackhawk baseball is at 4-6 in the section, and are tied with Quaker Valley for 3rd. Central Valley and Ambridge are tied for 5th at 3-7, while New Castle is 2-8. Beaver and Montour have clinched their playoff spots already. There are 4 berths out of the section. On Monday, May 9 and Tuesday, May 10, Blackhawk will take on New Castle, Quaker Valley will take on Ambridge, and Beaver will take on Central Valley. To clinch, Blackhawk must: a) Win both games against New Castle. If they do so, they clinch 3rd in the section and return to the playoffs no matter what. b) Win 1 game against New Castle.
